A Study on Effects of Death Education Services on Attitudes of the Elderly toward Death

Abstract
The purpose of this article is to analyze the effects of death education services on attitudes of the elderly toward death. To fulfill this purpose, we conducted survey to the aged in Seoul and Gyeonggi province. The major results of this study are as follows. First, the programs which had showed high level of satisfaction were related with general information about death. However the programs which the level of satisfaction was low were the program which had special contents relating private value and socio-economic status. Second, when we conducted multi regression analysis, the factors which had showed significant positive effects on attitudes toward death were the participating time at Death Education Services, high level of satisfaction of the death anxiety, low level of satisfaction of the death experience and mercy killing education. In conclusion, we suggested the ideal death education services program model and the method of carrying out that.
